Stars are born…

Stars are born…

The three sub-teens have written, directed and starred (it says so in the credits) in their own ten-minute film. Title: Nebula Academy. It includes talking cats, a transmogrifying toy monkey, broomstick flights, a haunted château...the lot. (No plagiarism was used during the making of this film, no sirree.)

They’d kept it secret all week, although we suspected something was up as we were frequently shushed and sometimes barred from entering rooms. Cries of ‘cut’ and ‘action’ should also have alerted us. One or two of the stars would occasionally flounce off the set in tears, but, on the whole, harmony reigned. A few of the grown-ups (everything’s relative) were given minor parts and one of the teens was roped in for occasional camera-work.... All were made to sign the official secrets act.

The world première took place in the State Room last night and ended in a standing ovation. (If I’d known beforehand, I’d have dressed better.) The stars got overexcited and had to watch the film another six times, hence very late bedtime and slightly stroppy morning.

It’s not yet on general release although I do have a bootleg copy. But I daren’t infringe copyright anyway.

The reviews this morning were excellent.

And I am only very slightly biased.
