Grumpyness

Big-bastardly-bee

The girls’ bestie arrived for a ten-day stay. They were all beyond excited, which resulted in bedtime at midnight, awake (awakal?) at 5 in the morning...and some majorly grumpy adults. The girls will probably go to pieces around 4pm. The adults a little later. I foresee alcohol and tears.

Many tears and much alcohol later...

I lost it briefly this morning. Various mishaps ratcheted up my crossness until, the final straw, SOMEONE STOLE the last square of salt chocolate, from my PERSONAL and HIDDEN (but obvs not well enough) chocolate stash. Plus the landline went down and my mobile is so old I might as well semaphore. So I shouted and people crept around hugging the walls. I then shouted some more and swore hideously in front of the sub-teens. They took further notes.

The advantages of being briefly fierce are: everyone avoids you and you have the place to yourself. The downside is that I now have to apologise to everyone. Especially to the younger and more sensitive. (Sensitive my arse).

Then i got stung by a bee.
